Major Duties (Job Description)

  • You will serve as a senior expert responsible for developing the strategic vision, mission, and goals for the engineering workforce.
  • You will develop and propose innovative processes for engineering requirements, resource planning, and competency management.
  • You will design and develop innovative career roadmaps, a comprehensive engineering leadership competency model, and other strategic initiatives to build and sustain a technically proficient workforce.
  • You will Regularly brief Flag Officers and SES members on the status, challenges, and opportunities related to engineering workforce readiness.
  • You will develop and utilize advanced metrics to assess organizational progress and workforce health against strategic objectives.

Qualification Summary

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Applying advanced systems engineering knowledge to analyze a technical workforce and develop strategic plans for competency management or professional development; Leading projects or initiatives focused on identifying technical skill gaps, improving organizational processes, or designing career paths for an engineering or technical workforce; Providing expert technical advice and recommendations to senior leadership on workforce strategy, training, or resource planning; AND Representing a program or organization in collaborative forums with other commands or agencies to coordinate on workforce development or technical competency issues.
